NEWTHING is an innitiative where innovation is key. It supports the BIMHUIS, but does not belong to the BIMHUIS; members have the right to self-determination to a large extent. The main objective is to support the work of young professional musicians, to give them the opportunities to develop their own artistic signature and to disseminate it. This concerns projects that cannot be funded from the current exploitation and varies from artistic, business and practical level.

NEWTHING refers to the peculiar genre of Ornette Coleman from the 50s and 60s: a true revolution. At the same time, the name refers to the classic New Thing @ Newport. A record with John Coltrane on one side and Archie Shepp on the other. There was much to do about all these innovations; you had fans for Coltrane ór Shepp.

You support NEWTHING with an annual gift of € 2500 for a period of five years. The BIMHUIS is a registered charitable organization and has the fiscal, cultural ANBI status. So there are fiscal benefits for periodical gifts with an annuity construction for five years and upwards. If you choose to support us by joining NEWTHING your gift will be tax-deductible.

With a gift you not only contribute to the development of new musicians and jazz in general, but you also receive:
• The BIMHUIS card, which allows you unlimited access to almost all concerts in the BIMHUIS
• Introductions and additional information about concerts
• Exclusive events for which no tickets can be purchased, such as meet & greets with musicians, backstage tours and attending master classes
