Maison Prettyboy = 3 handsome jazzmusicians that have met recently and felt from the first note they share an effortless groove, straight from the heart..
Maison Prettyboy is an acid jazz organ trio built on swagger, virtuosity, and subversive groove. Rooted in late-night vintage hammond heat, the band blends sharp tailoring with dirty funk — the elegance of a Parisian salon colliding with the pulse of a basement jam. Driven by greasy organ lines, tight-hipped drums, and guitar work that melts faces, Maison Prettyboy delivers sets that nod to classic soul-jazz while pushing into modern acid textures.
On stage, Maison Prettyboy plays like a conversation between order and chaos — smooth entrances, explosive breakdowns, and grooves that stretch just far enough to make the room lean in. A band that just refuses to behave.
Anton Goudsmit | Guitar
At the heart of the Maison’s sonic defiance stands Anton Goudsmit, a whirlwind of creative energy and a titan of the Dutch jazz scene. A recipient of the prestigious Boy Edgar Prize, Goudsmit has spent decades blurring the lines between tradition and rebellion. Known for a musical personality that is as unpredictable as it is irresistible, he brings a raw, predatory grace to the trio. In Maison Prettyboy, his virtuosity finds a new edge, trading polite jazz conventions for high-voltage riffs and a groove that demands total surrender.
Daniel Bulatkin | Organ
Anchoring the Maison’s vintage heat is Daniel Bulatkin, a leading voice of the new European jazz guard and a master of subversive groove. A winner of the OSA Best Jazz Composition award, Bulatkin has already carved out a global footprint, collaborating with heavyweights such as Tineke Postma, Seamus Blake, and Dayna Stephens. In this trio, he serves as the architect of atmosphere—trading his traditional piano roots for the gritty, greased-up pulse of the Hammond. Bulatkin provides the sophisticated yet dangerous foundation that allows the chaos to breathe, acting as the essential, urban heartbeat of the ensemble.
Felix Schlarmann | Drums
The pulse of the Maison is dictated by Felix Schlarmann, a cornerstone of the Amsterdam scene and a drummer of relentless versatility. A faculty member at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and the founding force behind Jazzfest Amsterdam, Schlarmann’s reputation for surgical precision and creative fire is unmatched. Having toured the globe with the heavyweight crossover outfit BRUUT! and collaborated with icons like Dave Douglas and Jesse van Ruller, he brings a sophisticated, high-octane drive to the trio.
