Licks & Brains are a Dutch 18 piece Soul/Funk/Jazz big band directed by Rolf Delfos, recording artist of over 100 records and one of the leading alto-players in the Netherlands. Licks & Brains performs with top-artists from the Dutch Jazz/Funk scene. Licks & Brains' latest project is Electric Minds, featuring Eric Vloeimans. The album, release date October 17, 2019 is produced by Edison winner Bart Wirtz and Oscar de Jong of EDM act Kraak & Smaak, who together have created an organic blend of horns, electronic grooves and the adventurous playing of Vloeimans.

Montis, Goudsmit & Directie share a passion for groove and a true love for funky SoulJazz. Organ beast Frank Montis grooves like no other and regularly met Goudsmit & Directie on sessions. An absolute killer combi, so they turned out to be, that will set any audience on fire. A trio was born.

The energetic and inventive Anton Goudsmit is the perfect guitarist for this formation. From behind the drums the blazing Cyril Directie conducts the storm in all sorts of directions: classics by Grant Green, The Meters, Jimmy Smith, Eddie Harris and Rusty Bryant are easily combined with their own compositions and wild improvasstions on the fly. Let there be groove!

Frank Montis is no stranger to the Dutch Soul & Jazz scene. He regularly tours with his own band DelMontis and played funk and soul with The Soul Snatchers and Laura Vane & The Vipertones. Until recently he was a singer/keyboard player for the successful formation Gare du Nord.

Amsterdam based guitarist and composer Anton Goudsmit is a whirlwind of creativity, capable of thrilling the audience with his irresistable groove and unique musical personality.

Drummer Cyril Directie played with Hans and Candy Dulfer, Kane, Total Touch, The Postmen and many other successful acts and is well known as the most energetic drummer of the Netherlands..
