Vocalist Francien van Tuinen and guitarist Anton Goudsmit, two internationally renowned Dutch jazz musicians, have started an exciting new duo. And their first performance as a duo will take place in Groningen! These extraverted musicians are bursting with the joy of playing and guarantee a concert you absolutely won’t want to miss.

Francien van Tuinen is considered one of the best singers in the Netherlands. After winning the Nederlands Jazz Vocalisten Concours in 1997, she has built up a versatile oeuvre. Her album Countrified contains her own songs, but she has also dedicated an album to the ‘cool voice’ of Rita Reys and written lyrics to classical music for the album Muzyka. As a singer and composer, she knows how to tell captivating stories and touch her audience. She also teaches at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen.

Guitarist Anton Goudsmit really needs no introduction, but for those who don’t know him yet: he is one of the Netherlands’ best-loved jazz guitarists! Goudsmit is known for his irresistible enthusiasm, boundless energy and exuberant playing. He has made a name for himself with bands like New Cool Collective, The Ploctones and Fugimundi. With his latest project Ton Petit he has shown a very different side of his musical personality: carefully crafted compositions with surprising versatility.
